New Zealand 8-piece The Black Seeds are pleased to announce that their fourth studio album Solid Ground will be released in Australia on Saturday 4th October 2008 through Inertia.

Solid Ground is the follow-up to The Black Seeds’ third album Into The Dojo, which spent 5 weeks at #1, reached well over double-platinum sales in New Zealand, and garnered critical acclaim in Europe and Australia.

The new 13-track album was written and work-shopped in Wellington over the 07/08 summer months, and recorded with Dr Lee Prebble at The Surgery Studio in Wellington.

Joined for the first time on an album by trumpet player Andrew Christiansen and keyboardist Nigel Patterson, the new album has come on the back of 2 years of extensive international live touring, and promises to be the bands finest yet.

Solid Ground will be released in Europe through the renowned Sonar Kollektiv label. The first single Slingshot is currently receiving strong airplay in Europe after the band completed a successful 23-show tour in July, which included performances at some of Europe’s biggest music festivals (Roskilde, Lovebox, Summerjam)

Solid Ground is in store October 4th, through Inertia.

The Black Seeds will hit Australia for live shows in October 2008.
